Set within the grounds of a beautiful home in Sevenoaks, this project focused on creating a refined and timeless planting scheme to complement the property’s stunning architecture. Our team developed and installed new borders and beds designed to bring year-round structure, texture, and seasonal colour – a space that will only get better as it matures.
The challenge
Our clients had recently completed major landscaping and hardscaping works and wanted the finishing touch – thoughtful, high-quality planting to soften the look of the garden and tie the outdoor areas together. The design needed to feel elegant and cohesive while being easy to maintain, with plants that would thrive in the site’s conditions and aspect.
The Cowen Landscapes solution
We carefully prepared each bed with nutrient-rich topsoil and compost, ensuring the perfect foundation for long-term plant health.
The planting design combined a blend of evergreen structure and flowering interest, including:
– Box and laurel for reliable form and definition.
– Hellebores, viburnums, and skimmias to add colour and depth through the cooler months.
– Hydrangeas and ornamental shrubs to provide soft texture and summer interest.
Each plant was positioned to complement the natural flow of the garden and highlight key features such as the raised stone terrace and circular tree planter.
