A full garden refresh for a Maidstone property – combining crisp new sandstone paving, a freshly laid lawn, and neat planted borders to create a modern, usable space. Once the fencing and outbuilding are painted in dark grey, this garden will look effortlessly cohesive and contemporary.
The project
This outdoor space in Maidstone needed a complete overhaul to transform a tired, uneven surface into a clean, practical garden. Our team managed every stage of the process, taking care to deliver a high-quality finish that will last for years to come.
Ground preparation
We started by removing the existing materials and preparing the site with a solid sub-base. The ground was levelled, compacted, and shaped to establish the correct falls for drainage.
Sandstone paving installation
Next, we installed new Indian sandstone paving — laid with precision on a full mortar bed. The light tones of the stone give the space a bright, fresh feel, while the pattern layout ensures a professional, balanced finish.
Turfing and lawn creation
Once the paving was complete, we turned our attention to the lawn area. The soil was graded, fertilised and levelled before premium turf was carefully laid in a striped formation – ensuring tight joins, no gaps, and a smooth surface throughout.
Border planting
To soften the look and bring colour through the seasons, we added a selection of flowering shrubs to the borders, chosen for long-term structure and interest.
The result
The finished garden is clean, structured and ready to enjoy – the perfect mix of hard and soft landscaping. Once the client paints the fencing and outbuilding a dark grey, it will tie everything together beautifully, setting off the pale sandstone paving and vibrant new lawn.
